It’s that time of the year again… comedy season has kicked off and we’re in the mood to have a laugh.

We’ve chatted to Rowan Thambar in the past and he’s back on our radar this week with a new show kicking off in Sydney.

Apologies in advance for the Taylor Swift-esque pun in the headline Rowan, we just couldn’t help ourselves!

Here’s what you need to know about Rowan’s Fringe Festival show:

Title: 22

Starring: Rowan Thambar

The low down:

After a successful run at the 2016 Sydney Comedy Festival with “Brown is the New Black” Rowan Thambar now returns with a show that takes an honest look at what it means to grow up.

’22’ is the title of Rowan’s new Fringe Festival show, which blends musical comedy, stand-up and autobiographical moments to explore the journey from hair straighteners to hair loss.

“People should come check out my show because it’s a show that talks about growing up and what it means to be an adult,” the 22-year-old tells ‘I Am Starstruck’.

“I’m trying to give people the opportunity to laugh at some of the hard parts about chasing success, jealousy and getting old.”

“It’s a bit darker (excuse the pun) than my previous shows – I think the way I handle the material and the process I draw a lot of inspiration from Louis CK and also Neal Brennan,” he adds.

We’ve been following Rowan’s comedic career since the very start, and you can check out our previous chats with him HERE and HERE.

Rowan’s hitting the stage in Sydney from September 5 to 7 (tickets here), and will then be ready to crack up the Melbournians from September 19 to 26 (tickets here).
