He captivated the nation playing hot doctor Patrick Reid on Offspring.
And now Matt Le Nevez is set to have hearts racing once again as he returns to Australian television playing the new male lead on drama Love Child.
In the latest promotional teaser for the Channel Nine show, 36-year-old Matt is seen making his dramatic arrival, and getting cosy with actress Jessica Marais.
With the show set at the start of a new era, Kings Cross is shaken up in the year of 1970 when Matt’s mysterious character arrives at Stanton House.
Following a brawl outside the Sydney suburb’s iconic water fountain, an injured Matt walks into the hospital wing, much to the surprise of midwife turned doctor Joan Millar, played by Jessica.
Wearing a brown buttoned shirt, the dark-haired hunk with a sleeked black hairstyle manages to flash a charismatic smile at the blonde beauty despite the wounds on his face.
The pair share an intense moment staring, hinting they share a mysterious past unknown to viewers.
‘Love Child welcomes a new leading man… Matt Le Nevez,’ projects the voiceover as the clip plays.
Matt and Jessica are then seen sharing a tender moment with an infant, Matt playing the doting dad and holding the newborn’s little fingers.
In a chic blue dress Jessica is right by his side, also stroking the little bub and smiling with joy.
‘That’s my son,’ Matt subsequently says in the next scene, holding onto the little boy in a hospital ward, with Jessica’s midwife character watching on with a smile.
Despite the joyful times shown in the two-minute preview, fans of the show can be guaranteed plenty of drama as well.
Logie award winning Jessica proves her versatility as an actress yet again, sobbing and screaming in some scenes as matron Frances Bolton – played by Mandy McElhinney – attempts to restrain the blonde’s rage.
Also returning to the second season of the drama is Ella Scott Lynch, Sophie Hensser and Gracie Gilbert, who all play young women living at Stanton House, a home for unwed mothers.
Meanwhile Miranda Tapsell reprises her role as Martha Tennant, with her character seemingly set to walk down the aisle as she poses in front of a mirror in a wedding dress and saying ‘I do’.
Joining Matt and season one’s heart throb Jonathan LaPaglia, is also former Home And Away star Lincoln Younes.
The 23-year-old, famed for playing River Boy Casey Braxton on the Channel Seven soap, is seen forming a close bond with Gracie Gilbert’s character Annie in the teaser.
Love Child season two is set to return to Channel Nine later this year.
