Fans of Dr Patrick “Sexy” Reid may rejoice!

The portrayer of the hot doctor from Channel Ten’s Offspring is returning to Australian screens after being killed off the popular drama last year.

Matt will be starring in Channel Nine show Love Child, which finished its first season earlier this month.

The exciting news was announced at a post Logies event hosted by the network on Monday in Melbourne, and Matt was on hand to celebrate the news of his role alongside Love Child star Jessica Marais.

Matt will begin filming for Season 2 of the series in June and will star opposite Jessica as well as Mandy McElhinney, Sophie Hensser, Jonathan LaPaglia and more.

Set in the 1960s of Sydney’s Kings Cross, the stellar Australian small screen production features struggling young mothers, abandoned babies, single nurses and married doctors who heavily flirt with each other.

The second reason will kick off with a jam packed episode revolving around activities on New Year’s Eve 1970.

So far we have witnessed the antics of Kings Cross in the 1960s, so season 2 will expose audiences to a new decade.
