FIRST LOOK: AUSSIE STAR REBECCA BREEDS IN BOLLYWOOD FILM ‘BHAAG MILKHA BHAAG’
A couple of months ago, our sister Aussie Celeb Blog ‘I Am Starstruck’, revealed that former ‘Home and Away’ star Rebecca Breeds was making her Bollywood debut. Click HERE if you haven’t read it.
Now we can reveal the first shots and details of Bec’s new role as she swaps the surf and sand of Summer Bay for the saris and shrines of Bollywood!
Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ stars leading Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar playing Milkha Singh, the most celebrated Indian athlete of the late 1950s. He is joined by Sonam Kapoor who will play Nirmal Kaur, captain of the Indian Women Volleyball team.
And where does Aussie Breeds fit into all of this? She plays he role of a sportswoman who Akhtar’s character has a sizzling romantic rendezvous with – ooh la la !
According to the Hindustan Times, Bec was the perfect casting choice for this role. Word on the street is that insiders have revealed that “When Mehra was conducting auditions for a role in Austrailia, he met Rebecca and she instantly caught his eye. He knew she was perfect for the role of an Australian athlete (who is also a coach’s daughter) and he didn’t audition anyone else for the part.”
